Who We Are

The Down The Barrel Podcast is recorded in our small studio in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, inside the Central Square Mall.

The podcast was the brainchild of Jim Cochran and Dean Jacobs, both from Grand Rapids and both employees of the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association. An early addition to the hosting team was Jared Mazurek, Executive Director of MDHA.

From the beginning, the goal was to focus on Minnesota and Midwest outdoor topics while also using the platform to do some good. The guys wanted to give airtime to veterans and to the organizations working hard to support them.

Groups like Roger Up and First Call For Help 211 have played a big role in shaping the podcast, along with influences from MDHA, Wolf Report, and MNBOW.

Down The Barrel Podcast is all about real conversations, outdoor culture, conservation, hunting, and the people making a difference across Minnesota and beyond.
